As a School we seek to embody “allyship” and “advocacy” as defined in the following ways:
“Allyship is an active, consistent, and conscious practice of unlearning and re-evaluating, in which a person holding system power seeks to end oppression in solidarity with a group of people who are systemically disempowered. Since everyone holds systemic power in some areas and lacks in in others, we all have areas in which we can practice allyship.”
“Advocacy: To influence and act in ways that support vulnerable or excluded members of the community.”
We extend this allyship and advocacy to all persons, as well as to the earth and its plants and animals, as God’s creation.
